Nextar GPS instruments are navigators from consumer electronics company Nextar. These navigators are based on global positioning system. Therefore, they have hardware that is able to collect information that GPS satellites transmit. This information is then sorted with the help of a proprietary software program, which generates 2 or 3 dimensional images of the geographic position where the person is traveling and the road that leads to the destination. Other features of Nextar GPS instrument include touch screen, verbal directions, Points of interest, traffic assessment, hand free operation, and entertainment tools. Most of these instruments are designed for automobiles. It communicates in English, French, and Spanish. The destinations marked as points of interest are essentially those that are in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
